Apps not staying locked, until reopening Blank Spaces app...

Currently on iOS 18.3.2, and since recent updates of this app, my apps do not stay locked after timer, until I reopen app and go to the locked apps section. Might not be actively rendering in background. Hopefully this is something I am missing and not a bug. Thanks!!
